Grab offers a range of services, including on-demand transportation, food delivery, and financial services through a mobile app.
The $200M round comes after $856M that the company raised in Feb 2020 from Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group and TIS INTEC to build out its Financial Services offerings. Looking at the 15% YoY growth in headcount, it seemed like the company was on track. But, as the company’s core ride-hailing business has been significantly impacted by the pandemic, the company is now preparing itself for a long winter.
Grab’s Competitive Landscape
Grab’s major competitor, Gojek, seems to be growing at a similar pace. And if the rumors are true, a merger between Grab and Gojek could be on the anvil.
